I was very dissapointed with this book. In my opinion you can not call something natural if it contains toxic ingredients. Every recipe in this book call for lye. Not for my family's skin! Saffire Blue Note: Saponification is the chemical process of making soap that involves an exothermic reaction between lye (sodium hydroxide) and a fat (usually oils). In other words, you cannot make soap without lye.
