Annatto Seed Whole

Annatto Seed Powder, Bixa orellana L. This natural, ground flower-seed will produce lovely shades of orange to yellow-orange in both CP and melt & pour soaps. Infuse at the rate of about 1 - 2 teaspoons of annatto seeds per pound of oil. The amount of annatto seeds you decide to infuse will depend on how dark you want the colour. Simply use the infused olive oil in your soap recipe. A lower percentage of infused olive oil in your soap will give a lighter colour while a higher percentage will give a darker colour.
