Essential Oil Blend for Stress & Insomnia

In one study done at Britain’s University of Southampton, researchers tested the efficacy of Lavender versus a placebo as a treatment for insomnia.  Ten adults (5 men and 5 women) completed the 4 week study.  Half of the participants slept in a room where lavender essential oil was diffused in the air throughout the night; the others slept in a similar room where sweet almond oil was released.  After a week, the groups switched rooms.  The study provided evidence that the lavender-scented room improved sleep by 20{2f217b6ef4e944ec449aa2c625e1f0e1f43c0ee840d0a16b8bf46c3ef1173473}.

Vetiver essential oil has a calming and soothing effect on the central nervous system.  It is the perfect oil to help quiet an overactive, exhausted, or stressed mind. It is also thought to help better manage anger, irritability, or compulsive behavior, as well as help with occasional sleeplessness.

In a 5 ml Roll on Bottle, combine:

20 Drops Lavender Essential Oil 40/42
8 Drops Vetiver Essential Oil

Fill remainder of bottle with Sweet Almond Oil – 100{2f217b6ef4e944ec449aa2c625e1f0e1f43c0ee840d0a16b8bf46c3ef1173473} Pure

To use:  Apply on neck and/or soles of feet before bedtime as needed

Your experience with essential oils may vary, depending on your sensitivity and which therapeutic benefits you’re looking to attain. Because of their potency in pure form, essential oils should always be blended with a carrier oil, like coconut or almond oil, before being applied to the skin. Once combined with a carrier oil, you may apply directly onto the skin as a massage aid, or onto a warm compress, handkerchief or pillow.  Try burning a few drops in a diffuser or add them to bath salts for a stress-reducing, muscle-relaxing bath experience. Some find that applying a small amount to the soles of the feet or to the back of the neck is also quite effective.
