Lavender, Oatmeal & Shea Butter Soap Recipe

This creamy, nourishing soap cleanses without stripping or upsetting the delicate natural pH balance necessary for soft, healthy skin.  This soap gives a fantastic lather, and soothes and moisturizes with its combination of Oatmeal and Shea butter.  The lavender flowers provide a gentle exfoliation, as well as a lovely pop of colour in your finished bar.

2 lbs (0.91 kg) Oatmeal and Shea Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base

1/4 cup Lavender Flowers Super Whole

5-10 ml Lavender Essential Oil 40/42 (depending on your scent preference)

(optional) Gel Colourant – Purple

Mold Market Soap Mold – Loaf Mold – Square – 143

Soap Cutter – Easy Grip

Rubbing Alcohol (to spritz)

Cut your soap base into cubes and place in a microwave safe bowl.

Microwave your soap base in 15 second increments, stirring between each increment, until fully melted.

Gently stir in your lavender flowers, essential oil and a few drops of colourant (if using) until evenly distributed.  This base is a suspending base, so your lavender flowers will remain evenly distributed and will not sink to the bottom of your mold.

Pour into your mold and spritz top with rubbing alcohol to prevent bubbles from forming.

Allow to rest until fully set.  Release from your mold, slice into bars and enjoy!
