Description
Bentonite clay is well known for its highly absorptive and adsorptive properties. Geologically, bentonite is a volcanic ash deposited in sea water approximately 60 million years ago. This mineral-rich bentonite is a swelling-type clay containing only 14 to 17 elements – one of the lowest number of elements to comprise a mineral on earth. This low mineral count is believed to be partially responsible for the high absorptive properties in the clay.
Our bentonite clay is known as western or sodium type bentonite. Our bentonite clay is a #200 mesh fine powder, also known as montmorillonite. This type of bentonite is capable of absorbing 7 to 10 times its own weight in water, and swelling up to 18 times its dry volume.

This clay is great! I’ve purchased elsewhere and it was white which means that it was cut with something. This clay is nice rich grey. I used it in my deodorant and it’s exactly what it needed. FANTASTIC
I love this clay. Light grey in colour. Works great as a mask alone, or combined with oils and other clays for a number of purposes. Can be slightly drying on already dry skin, to avoid this I mix with a lightweight carrier oil instead of water or aloe vera juice.
