Strength of Aroma: Medium

Aromatic Scent: Ravensara is said to have a medicinal scent that is camphorous like with fruity notes. Ravensara is not to be confused with Ravintsara oil which comes from the botanical Cinnamomum camphora as Ravensara is a completely different oil chemically and aromatically. It has a spicy, herbal aroma whereas the Ravintsara smells very reminiscent of Ecalyptus Globulus. Don’t be fooled by other companies who sell the cheaper Ravintsara and try to pass it off as Ravensara. If you get this oil from another vendor and it smells like Eucalyptus then you have been duped.

Blends well with: Clove Bud, Eucalyptus, Lavender and Rosemary.

this review is more about service. My ravensara turned out to be fennel and was labeled wrong. Was deeply concerned quality control, but spoke to staff and was informed all orders are poured individually and not beforehand. what a relief! This issue was resolved very quickly and to my satisfaction. Mistakes happen… but how they are handled matters most. I have no complaints and would order again.

Ravensara is a completely different oil both chemically and aromatically. It has a spicy, herbal aroma whereas the Ravintsara smells very reminiscent of eucalyptus globulus because of the high 1,8-cineole content. By contrast, Ravensara has very little 1,8-cineole. I use Ravensara in a blend with 4 other essential oils for a warm & spicy masculine scent. It is one of my favourite EOs.

Not quite what I expected since the previous ravensara oil I purchased elsewhere smelled a bit different, but it is still nice. Blends well with other respiratory relief oils such as eucalyptus, frankincense, etc. It has a slightly heavy, masculine smell but not overpowering. Works well in a diffuser to alleviate congestion due to colds or asthma.
