Description

Cosmetic grade Blue Ultramarine Powder can be used in face makeup, and eye makeup, soaps and lotions. Ultramarines and oxides can be blended together to give a wide range of colours. For soap making Blue Ultramarine can be added after the lye and fats are blended, use at about 1 teaspoon per 5lb soap. Iron oxides are inorganic and will not bleed. Do not use in lipsticks. Not recommended for nail lacquers.

All cosmetic-grade ultramarines are lab-manufacturered from sulphur.  This product will release hydrogen sulphide in an acid-base reaction, causing a “rotten egg” odor.  This reaction may occur if the pH is under 6 on the pH scale.  Generally, this only occurs with the ultramarine blue shades (not the pinks or violets).

For the safety and convenience of you and your customers, all our oxides and ultramarines are Cosmetic Grade. We pack in clear zip-lock bags for your convenience. Specification sheets and MSDS’s are available for all these products.

INCI: Ultramarines (77007).

Vibrant rich blue colour and can’t beat the price!

  10. Sherri

Very nice colour. I had to use more than I expected to reach the desired colour, since I had a bad experience with the red oxide in the past. 1 tsp ppo in CP soap is about the right amount for a vibrant blue.

This is a great product for your money! You need very very little to colour cold process soap. I’ll be purchasing this in more colours now that I know how well it works.

  15. Kathryn

Used in cold-process soap, mixed about 3/4 tsp with 1 tbsp water and added to 1.75 lbs of soap. Produced a beautiful ocean blue colour very true to the colour of the powder. Definitely a favourite.

  16. Shannon

  17. Elizabeth

The color is true to the picture and makes wonderful eyeshadow

  18. Tara

It would be nice if Sapphire Blue clearly stated in the product description that this colour cannot be used in bath bombs. The colour itself is gorgeous but as soon as it come into contact with an acid, it releases a pungent sulphur (rotten eggs) smell. I wasted my money on this and ruined an entire batch of bath bombs. Now I\’m stuck with a large jar of a useless, although beautiful, colourant.

I made a blue mascara with this and it turned out awesome! It looks eclectic blue on lashes! Can’t wait to purchase more 🙂
