Valkyrie's Angel costume helps her stay close to her teammates as a guardian angel; healing, resurrecting or enhancing them with rays emanating from her Caduceus staff.
An angel in Overwatch is a support character
The Overwatch Angel is the most healable support-oriented snapper, able to quickly heal her teammate to full health and even use her resurrection to bring them back from the dead. Her ulta ends up enhancing all of her abilities, making her one of the best support heroes out there. When she is not healing, she is able to increase one ally's damage, allowing them to kill enemies and break through barriers. She is very team dependent: her damage is weak, and her powerful Resurrection effect makes her a prime target for the enemy team, forcing her to rely on her team for protection.
She possesses:
- Healing skills;
- Increases damage to teammates;
- Can resurrect fallen allies in battle.

In response to a support ticket, Blizzard jokingly stated that Angel's heart "belongs to Turbosween.
Angel's wings are available as a cosmetic item in Diablo III for players who purchased the Origins Edition.
The official website, used Angel's age to be 34. The Appeal cancelled it to 37, and her information page on the official website has since been changed to reflect this.
The magazine cover with Angel could be found in the annex on Route 66. The magazine was removed in a later patch.
At the beginning of the beta, Angel had a different voice actress; the role was later recast with Lucy Paul, who is fluent in German.
The witch's resurrection line, "My servants don't die!", was added for Angel's appearance because of a fan request.
Moira has some backstory with Angel, as one uses technology developed by another.

Earlier it became known that Blizzard was thinking about making Angel a dark-skinned man with white hair. He would also use a Valkyrie costume and a Caduceus wand, just like the original character in the current version of Overwatch.
