Danes cannot play online casinos without a licence

Casinos in Denmark will soon be banned unless they are licensed. According to https://casino-bonuskode.dk/ new laws passed by the Danish Gambling Authority will further tighten the rules for operators. Marketing must include clear information on age limits for betting, and operators must refer customers to a responsible gambling guide if they do not have a licence. In addition, the Danish Gambling Authority has the power to block online casinos without a licence.

From 1 January 2020, the Gambling Authority will introduce age verification as one of the priority criteria. If operators do not have the necessary age verification tools, it will have a negative impact on their credibility assessment. The Gambling Authority has already stated that protecting Dutch consumers is its guiding principle in the fight against illegal remote operators. In addition to these new rules, the Gambling Authority has also introduced a new age verification requirement that will apply to operators operating from the Netherlands.

At the same time, the Gambling Authority has also published a draft policy rule on the application process. The legislation states that operators can apply for a licence if they meet the established criteria. The application process will take between eight and 12 weeks, depending on the value of the prizes they intend to offer. The gambling industry hopes to have the new rules in place by the end of 2022. It's a long process, but in the end casino operators won't have to wait until 2022 to open their doors in Denmark.

The case has also influenced the legal discourse on how the licensing process for non-random gambling is carried out. The decision has gone as far as local municipalities requesting licences for premises for gambling halls. The Gambling Authority is an independent regulatory body in The Hague that oversees the gambling industry and the adoption of gambling legislation. If a Danish casino is not licensed, it will not be allowed to operate in Denmark in the future.

There are two betting monopolies in the Netherlands: Nederlandse Loterij BV and ZEbetting & Gaming Nederland BV. Both are involved in horse racing betting and are semi-permanent. Each licence is valid for five years and is distributed among the current owners. Currently, casino operators operating in Denmark are subject to a 30% gambling tax. However, it is not yet clear to what extent this tax will be affected by the new licensing regime.

In Denmark, online gambling operators are required to obtain a license for their activities. This is due to the fact that the conduct of offshore gambling activities is prohibited by law. The Netherlands has also been a major source of offshore gambling despite strict regulation and a thriving online gambling industry. As a result, the Danish government has decided to make it easier for foreign companies to operate. However, it remains to be seen what impact this will have on future business in the country.
